Agricultural Training for Plantain Bananas in Africa

The FABA project – Agricultural Training for Plantain Bananas in Africa – was funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. It was coordinated by CIRAD, with support from the Institut Agro Montpellier and the FAR International Network, and in partnership with Cameroonian (ACEFA, AFOP, CARBAP, IRAD, MINADER, LTA Yabassi) and Ivorian (ANADER, CNRA, CSRS, FIRCA, PNMR) institutions.

Its objective is to produce educational resources to support plantain producers and their management (group leaders, cooperative leaders, agricultural advisors, trainers, teachers, etc.) towards more efficient and more sustainable production without pesticides in Central and West Africa.

These educational resources were developed through the facilitation of working groups involving plantain cultivation experts and agricultural training stakeholders from Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, and France. They were developed for use in a variety of training situations, either independently or as part of vocational training programs. They are free and accessible to all.

This presentation will allow you to familiarize yourself with the FABA educational kit, its various educational resources, how to access these tools and their use in a learning situation.
