Advice sheet on agro-ecological transition for the cultivation of Arabica coffee in Cameroon

General information

The Government, through MINADER, is working to include Cameroonian coffee growing in the innovative dynamic of sustainable intensification of the
coffee orchard under the concept of agroecology.
This support-advice sheet for agro-ecological transition is a
source of inspiration for Coffee Growing Advisors, responsible for supporting (facilitation, training, communication) producers in the design
and implementation of their Agroecological Transition Plan (PTA) in coffee growing.
The TA advice sheet applies the concept to the cultivation of Arabica coffee (Coffea
arabica), which is mainly grown in two regions:
• The West, characterized by an altitude of 1,000 to 1,200 m
• The Northwest, marked by a higher altitude (1,300 to 1,800 m).
This support-advice sheet is structured in two parts: part A which deals
with the reference situation of the coffee plots at the start of the transition process and part B devoted to the configuration plan of the agro-ecological concept in coffee growing.
